THAMK YOU for always being there and for being our small town helper.

Every year for Teacher Appreciation Week, Oliver's donates one of their Half Sheet Cakes to Mattie, Brooks and WMS through C*Star. See teacher appreciation or click apple.

Benita Jones (center) was Mattie's first Principal and led the school from its opening in 199? until her retirement in 2018.

Benita absolutely loved her job, had no ego and her door was always open to an employee, parent or a non-profit group. She was C*Star's best friend, allowed us to speak at Back to School Nights and always complimented us.

She told you what she felt and if it was good for Mattie, it was good for her. She had the biggest retirement party in WUSD history. An appropriate WUSD thank you might be naming Mattie's library in her honor.
